NYPD Police Officer Killed In Line Of Duty Honored With Plaque Dedication

By Idy Perl
On Friday, NYPD Officer Michael Buczek, who died in the line of duty on October 18, 1988, was honored with a plaque dedication in Pearl River.
Ramapo Police Chief Hyman, Lt. Dolan, Sgt. Baird, and several retired Ramapo officers joined other law enforcement officials at the Pearl River Dunkin’, where the event took place.
Chief Hyman, who was a young officer with the NYPD at the same time as Buczek, gave a speech and reflected on the night when Officer Buczek, together with another officer, Christopher Hoban, both died within several hours of each other while serving the people of NYC.
We thank the police force who risk their lives every day to serve and protect their communities.
