Law Enforcement Agencies Conduct Active Shooter Training Drill in North Rockland

Multiple law enforcement agencies participated in a large-scale active shooter training exercise this week at a school within the North Rockland Central School District as part of ongoing emergency preparedness efforts in Rockland County.

The training drill was conducted by the Haverstraw Police Department in coordination with the Rockland County Sheriff’s Office and the New York State Police, focusing on tactical response, communication, and coordination during critical incidents.

Officials said the exercise was designed to strengthen interagency cooperation and improve preparedness for emergency situations involving schools and public safety threats.

Local officials and school leaders assisted in facilitating the training exercise, including Town of Haverstraw Supervisor Howard Phillips, the Town Board, Superintendent Kris Felicello, and the North Rockland Central School District Board of Education.
