Former NYPD Officer Sworn In as New Spring Valley Police Officer

By Rockland Daily Staff

The Spring Valley Police Department officially welcomed its newest officer as Sean Mandel was sworn in during a ceremony held Tuesday morning.

Officer Mandel joins the department after serving with the NYPD’s 46th Precinct in the Bronx since December 2022. He also previously served with the NYPD’s Field Training Unit, gaining additional experience working alongside and assisting in the training of officers.

The swearing-in ceremony marked the department’s newest addition as local officials, fellow officers, and community members gathered for the occasion. The hiring comes as departments across the region continue efforts to strengthen local policing and public safety staffing.
