Hamaspik and Police Tell Rockland Daily: Viral “Abandoned Baby” in Monsey Was a False Alarm

Residents across Monsey woke up this morning to shocking photos circulating rapidly on social media, showing what appeared to be a newborn baby left in a stroller with a handwritten note in Yiddish. The note read:

“This child’s name is Malke. She is Jewish. Please care for her. We, the parents, do not have the capabilities for this. Thank you.”

Within moments, the images spread like wildfire, sparking panic, outrage, and heartbreak throughout the community. Many feared the worst, that a baby had been abandoned.

However, Rockland Daily reached out to Hamaspik Kings, the organization allegedly linked to the story, and received a clear response: “This has nothing to do with us and we are not aware of any such case.”

Shortly after, in a statement given to Rockland Daily, Ramapo Police addressed the situation, saying “We are investigating this viral post. At this time, we have not found any truth to it. It is under investigation.”

What began as a morning of shock and worry for Monsey’s residents has thankfully ended with relief - though many are questioning the judgment behind such a dramatic stunt. We will continue updating on this incident.
