Governor Hochul Announces Increased Law Enforcement Patrols

Governor Kathy Hochul announced that New York State Police and local law enforcement will intensify patrols to target reckless drivers.
The enforcement period, funded by the Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee, runs from Friday, October 25, through Thursday, October 31.
The initiative will feature sobriety checkpoints and increased DWI patrols, focusing also on distracted and speeding drivers. Last year’s patrols in this season resulted in over 32,000 citations and 1,182 DWI arrests.
