Ramapo Police Chief Praises Massive Multi-Agency Effort During Trump Visit
Message from Ramapo Police Chief Dan Hyman Regarding the Presidential Visit to the Town of Ramapo:
On Friday, May 22, 2026, the President Donald Trump came to the Town of Ramapo at SUNY Rockland. Every local police agency in Rockland County contributed, along with Orange County partners, Rockland County Fire and Emergency Services, OEPRamapo, Town of Ramapo Highway Department, EMS, RCC Public Safety and others.
We worked together with the United States Secret Service which established its command post at Ramapo Police Headquarters. The USSS requested that the Ramapo Police Department pilot our Skydio X10 DFR drones, which operated under a Special Government Interest waiver, even with a TFR in place. Axon also stepped up at the last minute, deploying their state-of-the-art Outpost LPR cameras to enhance security. We additionally utilized our UTV on site and participated in explosive detection canine sweeps.
This was not just about the President; it was about the safety of our entire community, and together, we accomplished that mission successfully. I especially appreciate Sheriff Louis Falco, whose partnership from day one helped make this operation possible.
I also want to thank our residents and local businesses for their patience and understanding throughout the traffic congestion and temporary disruptions associated with this historic event.
I thank every agency involved, along with our community, for making this a safe and collaborative success... from Ramapo to the President of the United States of America. 🇺🇸
