Chaverim of Rockland Welcomes 19 New Volunteers Enabling Broader Support for Rockland's Rapidly Expanding Neighborhoods

by Chana Weinman
Chaverim of Rockland welcomed nineteen new members tonight.
The new volunteers are a welcome addition, bringing the total number of volunteers to 175 and allowing the organization to continue to keep pace with the rapid growth of the many communities expanding inside Rockland. The majority of new members are part of the newer neighborhoods, including Chestnut Ridge, Pomona, Haverstraw, Airmont, New City, and Stony Point.
Famous for its Search and Rescue Team's efforts in rescuing lost or injured hikers to locating lost children in record time, Chaverim takes the call. From dealing with flat tires to flooded basements to home or car lockouts, stolen cars, home invasions, lost keys, and lost jewelry, to rescuing tefillin which have accidentally been buried under mounds and mounds of Rockland trash - no mountain is too high for Chaverim's volunteers, not even if it comes to driving family members to their chasana during a blizzard or flood, or to arranging erev Shabbos rescues for those stuck in traffic at the zman. Chaverim is there for Rockland day in and day out for all that and more.
Rockland is just glad that there are now more volunteers out there - daily.
