Rockland Celebrates National Night Out at Clover Stadium

by Chana Weinman
Rockland County's annual National Night Out event took place this afternoon at Clover Stadium in Pomona.
National Night Out events are annual initiatives promoting police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie.
Rockland's National Night Out event strengthened the partnership of Rockland's first responders and the community with activities emphasizing community safety and collaboration, including a search and rescue helicopter, music, face painting, dunk tank, police and fire vehicles, horses, a bounce house, giveaways, K-9s, and more.
The much-anticipated event included the opportunity for Rockland elected officials to greet the community together with local law enforcement and emergency personnel agencies, including Ramapo Police Department, Rockland County Sheriffs Department, New York State Police, Hillcrest Fire Department, and Spring Hill EMS. The activities concluded with a parade followed by a New York Boulders baseball game.
Chaverim of Rockland's team of unwavering volunteers also played a major role, as they do in every Rockland event. Volunteers not only managed traffic but also played an important role in the relationship building with attendees throughout the afternoon and were also an integral part of the parade of emergency vehicles.
