Emergency Assistance Provided for Forty-Nine Patients During Same Call

Spring Hill Community Ambulance Corp, Rockland Paramedic Services Medic 25, Hillcrest Fire Company No. 1, and Rockland County Sheriffs Office responded to a call from the Rockland County Health Complex for reports of multiple individuals experiencing carbon monoxide-related symptoms. 

The event occurred at approximately 10:35 a.m. on Friday, August 4, with many individuals reporting headaches, lightheadedness, and nausea. 

Two Spring Hill ambulances were at the scene during the extended operation. Spring Hill crews and two line officers assessed the well-being of forty-nine patients and staff members. Two patients were transported to Westchester with high carbon monoxide readings. The other forty-seven patients refused further evaluation and treatment. The two who are hospitalized are in stable condition.
