Work at Orangetown's West Washington Avenue Bridge Continues

Work at Orangetown's West Washington Avenue Bridge Continues
Work continues at the construction site of the soon-to-be new West Washington Avenue Bridge in the Town of Orangetown that will replace the old existing structure that requires replacement.

Rockland County Executive Ed Day, County Highway Superintendent Skip Vezzetti, and Legislator Thomas Diviny paid a visit to the construction site this morning.

The new structure will have improved hydraulic capacity, alignment, and scour resistance and be able to accommodate all legal loads. The project will realign the approach roadways between Old Pascack Road and Highland Avenue to improve horizontal and vertical curves and replace and improve drainage systems.

The new road and bridge are being constructed adjacent to the old bridge to maintain traffic throughout the construction process. Construction began in April and is expected to be completed late in 2025.
