Village of Nyack to Begin Road Paving Project Next Week

Yisroel R.

The Village of Nyack will begin a road milling and paving project next week as part of ongoing efforts to improve road conditions and infrastructure throughout the community.

According to village officials, milling work is scheduled to start Monday, April 20, with paving expected to begin the following week on Monday, April 27. Each phase of the project is expected to take approximately two days to complete.

The work will include removing the top layer of existing roadway before applying new asphalt, creating smoother and safer driving conditions for residents and visitors.

Officials say residents should expect temporary disruptions during the project, including noise from equipment, minor vibrations, and traffic delays due to lane closures or detours. On-street parking may also be restricted at times to allow crews full access to the roads. Parking lots will be available for residents who are unable to access their driveways, free of charge.

Following milling, road surfaces may remain uneven until paving is completed, and motorists are urged to drive with caution in affected areas.

Village officials noted that while the work may cause short-term inconvenience, the project will result in improved road safety, reduced wear on vehicles, and better overall conditions across the village.

Residents with questions can contact the Village Administrator’s office at 845-358-0548 ext. 283.
