Vehicle Crashes Into Utility Pole in Hillcrest

On Friday night, an intoxicated driver crashed his car into a utility pole on North Main Street in Hillcrest, causing a fire on the roadway from a downed wire.  

Ramapo Police responded to the scene along with Hillcrest Fire Department and Orange & Rockland. The driver, a 35-year-old male from Haverstraw, was the sole occupant of the vehicle. He was uninjured but was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated. After being processed at the Ramapo Police Department, he was released and is due back in Ramapo Court at an unspecified future date.
