Update Regarding Traffic Light Installation At Hungry Hollow Road

By Idy Perl

Chestnut Ridge Deputy Mayor Chaim Rose updated residents today regarding the traffic light that will be getting installed on Hungry Hollow Road.

Around a year ago the NYC Department of Transportation completed a traffic study at the intersection of Hungry Hollow Road and Route 45, which is prone to traffic pileups that delay local residents.

This past February NYC DOT notified the village that as a result of the study they will be installing a traffic light at the intersection to alleviate traffic.

Deputy Mayor Chaim Rose recently followed up with the DOT regarding the date that the traffic light will be installed. The DOT responded to him today that such projects can take a few years to execute, and since they have other locations that take precedence they are not able to provide an exact date yet for the installation.

Deputy Mayor Rose assured residents that he will be on top of it and will let them know of any further updates.
