Assemblyman John Mcgowa Statement On Ad97 Signs

Assemblyman John McGowan today released the following statement in response to articles about signs relating to the NYS Assembly District 97 campaign.

"My campaign has nothing to do with them. We neither created nor funded these signs. My campaign has and will always focus on the issues, comparing my record and policy positions to that of my opponents. And yes their names and images will be used, just like in every political campaign in America, and just like my opponents are doing already."

"I stand by my work as an elected official in Rockland and encourage my opponents to do the same. My campaign will engage in a spirited debate on the issues with professionalism and respect for everyone, as I have done throughout my entire career, free from identity politics. I look forward to a vigorous, factual and substantive discussion with my opponents in the weeks ahead."
