Traffic Enforcement Targets Overweight Trucks on Highview

Targeted enforcement operations were carried out last Thursday to address the persistent issue of trucks exceeding weight restrictions on Highview Avenue. 

Ten trucks making local deliveries were stopped during the operation. Five were issued tickets for violating the clearly posted weight restrictions. Additionally, one truck driver received a citation for speeding. 

The goal of the operation, according to a statement by the Ramapo Police Department, is not to issue tickets but to ensure compliance with the posted signs to create a safe environment for everyone on the roads. Alternative routes are available to help truckers fully comply with the weight restrictions.
