Parking at the Airport? Reserve Spots and Expect to Pay Up to $89 a Day

By Yehudit Garmaise

As New Yorkers head out of town this summer, parking lots at local airports will quickly reach maximum capacity.

As of last week, air travelers who park at JFK, Newark Liberty, and LaGuardia airports without first reserving spots can expect to pay up to $89 a day.

After conducting a survey that revealed that 38% of New York City travelers park their cars at local airports, the Port Authority advised travelers to reserve parking well in advance of their days of departure.

Not only will parking reservations ensure spots, but they will provide lower parking rates.

Airport parking lots collect fees to fund construction and infrastructure costs.

The Port Authority also encourages travelers to consider getting to airports via mass transit instead of driving to airports and taking a chance that one might fail to find an open parking spot.

By clicking on the airports that follow, readers can secure their parking spots and get more information on parking and rates: John F. Kennedy International (JFK), Newark Liberty International (EWR), and LaGuardia (LGA).
