Town of Ramapo Activates Non-Emergency Hotline as Major Winter Storm Continues
By Yisroel R.
As a major winter storm continues to impact the area, the Town of Ramapo has activated its non-emergency hotline at 845-250-8142. Town officials are urging residents to use this number for all non-emergency concerns so emergency responders can remain available for urgent situations. In the event of a true emergency, residents are advised to contact their local police department immediately.
Officials say the storm has proven to be a serious weather event, prompting renewed reminders for residents to keep all vehicles off roadways. Vehicles that are not removed may be ticketed or towed in order to allow emergency responders and highway crews to work safely and efficiently.
Supervisor Michael Specht and the Town of Ramapo Emergency Management Team are actively monitoring weather and road conditions. Highway Superintendent Fred Brinn reported that drivers have already begun notifying authorities of hazardous conditions as crews continue working throughout the storm.
The town said its entire workforce is engaged in storm response efforts, including the Town of Ramapo Police Department, Highway Department, Department of Public Works, Parks and Recreation, and Litter Patrol. Crews remain focused on keeping roadways passable and residents safe as conditions evolve.
Town officials thanked residents for their cooperation and patience and urged everyone to stay off the roads unless absolutely necessary. Updates will be provided if weather conditions or forecasts change. Residents are also reminded to stay warm and remain safe as the storm continues.
