Clarkstown Officials Provide Winter Storm Update as Heavy Snow Continues
By Yisroel R.
Town of Clarkstown Supervisor George Hoehmann provided an update on the ongoing winter storm, saying that snow continues to fall heavily across the town, with approximately eight inches already on the ground throughout Clarkstown.
According to Hoehmann, the Clarkstown Police Department reported that call volume has been lighter than normal, consisting mainly of overnight medical calls and several minor accidents during the morning hours, all without serious injuries. He noted that residents appear to be heeding warnings and staying off the roads.
Hoehmann also announced that the Palisades Center Mall is closed for the day due to the storm, and that all bus service within Rockland County has been suspended.
The supervisor said he visited both the police dispatch center and the Highway Department earlier in the day to monitor conditions firsthand. He added that he plans to provide a live update later in the afternoon from his office, expected around 3:00 p.m., as the storm continues to impact the area.
Residents are urged to remain cautious, avoid unnecessary travel, and stay tuned for additional updates as conditions develop
