Thiells and Piermont Fire Departments Conduct Joint Ice Rescue Drill

Members of the Thiells Fire Department and the Piermont Fire Department worked together this week during a joint ice rescue training drill held in Piermont.
The drill focused on ice rescue operations, allowing firefighters and dive team members to practice techniques used to safely rescue individuals who fall through ice-covered bodies of water. The training emphasized coordination, communication, and proper use of specialized rescue equipment in cold and hazardous conditions.
Thiells Fire Department officials thanked Piermont Fire Department for its continued support and collaboration, noting that joint drills play an important role in strengthening regional emergency response capabilities and improving readiness for real-life rescue situations.
