Ten New Recruits Start Training at Rockland County 911 Communications Division

Ten new recruits have begun training with the Rockland County Sheriff’s Office 911 Communications Division, starting the long process of becoming full public safety dispatchers.

The group entered the division’s nationally accredited new-hire academy this week, joining Class 8. The recruits include Danielle Goswick, Tatiana Sanmillan, Alyssa Bianco, Anthony Savarese, Meri Konysz, Valerie Smith, Amber Adams, Jade Herring, Marco Sinacore, and Nicholas Johnson.

Their training is set to run nine to twelve months, with a mix of classroom lessons, simulated emergencies, and supervised work on live calls. The Sheriff’s Office says each recruit will need to pass four national certification exams by the time the program ends.

For now, they are at the very beginning of a job that demands steady focus and quick decision-making, especially when residents call on their hardest days.
