Stony Point Man Sentenced in 2021 Killing and Car Fire

A Stony Point man has been sentenced to 17 years in state prison for a 2021 killing that ended with the victim’s car set on fire along the Palisades Interstate Parkway.

Prosecutors say 38-year-old Robert Rodriguez shot and killed 35-year-old Ronald Mann on Feb. 15, 2021, in the area of Call Hollow Road. After the shooting, Rodriguez drove the victim’s body to an exit ramp near the parkway and set the car on fire with the body inside. The burning vehicle was discovered early the next morning.

Rodriguez later pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter. A judge in Rockland County court handed down a 17-year prison sentence, followed by five years of post-release supervision.

The case was the result of a lengthy investigation that ultimately brought answers to the victim’s family.
