The Stony Point Town Board honored the Stony Point Ambulance Corps at its meeting Wednesday evening, recognizing the organization’s 80 years of service to the community.
Supervisor Stamm and the Town Board welcomed a strong turnout of Ambulance Corps members to mark the milestone and recognize their dedication to helping local residents.
Founded in 1946, the Stony Point Ambulance Corps has provided emergency medical services to the community for eight decades, responding to emergencies and helping ensure residents have access to medical assistance when they need it.
The organization serves Stony Point, Grassy Point, Tomkins Cove, Jones Point and portions of Harriman State Park. Its operations include a team of volunteer EMTs and responders, along with per-diem personnel who help maintain around-the-clock coverage.
The 80th anniversary marks a significant milestone for the organization and the generations of members who have dedicated their time to serving their neighbors.
