STAR Exemption Letters in the Mail

The New York State Department of Taxation and Finance is mailing letters to STAR exemption recipients with 2021 income between $250,000 and $500,000. 

The letters are in reference to being switched to the STAR credit program or updating registration information for the homeowner. The STAR programs saves homeowners hundreds of dollars each year.

Additionally, homeowners who recently bought their home or who never applied for the STAR benefit must register with the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance by visiting here or calling (518)-457-2036.
