Spring Hill EMS Unveils New Simulation Room at Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony
Tonight, Spring Hill Community Ambulance Corps held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to debut their new Ambulance Simulation Training Room. Spring Hill members, representatives of hospitals, and political leaders attended the ceremony.
During the ceremony, attendees had the opportunity to watch a Spring Hill EMS crew consisting of two paramedics, two EMTs, and an observer run a scenario in which the patient was experiencing difficulty breathing. They got to witness the professionalism and high level of care provided by Spring Hill.
This state-of-the-art training facility was built over the past year. An exact replica of an ambulance patient compartment was built inside the room, with working supplies and equipment. As part of this training room, Spring Hill has invested in cutting edge training software, including a lifelike mannequin that speaks, breathes, bleeds, and more.
“We pride ourselves on the training we provide to our EMT’s and observers. This training room is an investment in our members, our future, and most importantly the high level of care that we provide to our community” said Spring Hill Chief Ely Ungar.
Spring Hill’s members now have the opportunity to utilize this room to simulate real-life emergencies they encounter in the field. By practicing high-pressure scenarios in a controlled environment, members can sharpen their clinical skills, critical thinking, and teamwork, better preparing them to provide the highest level of care to patients during real emergencies.
Spring Hill President Akiva Zidell shared that, “This new training room will give our members the opportunity to utilize innovative technology to train and practice their critical thinking and hands-on skills in realistic simulations.”
Spring Hill Community Ambulance Corps continues to be a model for EMS innovation and growth. As the first volunteer 911 EMS agency to provide ALS services in Rockland County, Spring Hill continues to expand its capabilities through intensive member training programs and educational initiatives, including hosting an upcoming EMT-B course this January.
The opening of this new simulation room marks another milestone in Spring Hill’s continued commitment to innovation, training, and excellence in emergency medical care. Through investments in its members and their training, Spring Hill remains focused on strengthening the care it provides to the community.
