Speaker of the House Mike Johnson sent a heartfelt letter to the Skver Rebbe, extending warm wishes on the occasion of his grandchild’s wedding.
The letter, dated February 14, 2025, was personally delivered to the Rebbe by Congressman Mike Lawler.
In the letter he expresses admiration for the joyous occasion, highlighting the significance of marriage in Jewish tradition. "Mazal Tov on the joyous celebration of yet another grandchild’s wedding! This is a blessed moment in the history of your family, and I rejoice with you as you celebrate this sacred union," Johnson wrote. The Speaker referenced the Torah’s commandment to “Be fruitful and multiply”. He noted that marriage represents a "beautiful mitzvah" and quoted Psalms: “The Lord has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy.”
Expressing his best wishes for the newlywed couple, Johnson wrote, “I pray that this new couple is blessed with joy, companionship, and eternal love.”
While extending his gratitude for the invitation, Johnson regretfully noted his inability to attend the ceremony, concluding with his hopes to visit Skver's gigantic new Shul in the near future.
