Skverer Rebbe Establishes New Vaad To Oversee Sofris

By Idy Perl
Following recent unfortunate events in the field of bedikas Stam, the Skverer Rebbe has established a new Vaad within the Beis Din of Skver to oversee all matters involving Sofrei Stam.
The Vaad will be tasked with supervising the writing of all sefer Torahs, tefillin, and mezuzahs, and will also be in constant contact to provide guidance to the Sofrei Stam that do this holy work.
The Rebbe has appointed Reb Yosef Yisrael Eisenberger, shlit”a, the Av Beis Din of Skver, to lead the Vaad. He will be joined by Reb Yitzchok Spitzer, shlit”a, a halachic authority and expert sofer in the community, Reb Avrohom Yitzchok Lunger, shlit”a, a dayan in the Monsey community, and Reb Dovid Eisenberger, shlit”a, another noted halachic authority in the community.
The first meeting of the Vaad was held at Reb Yosef Yisroel Eisenberger’s home just a few days after the Vaad was established. Twelve experts who work in the field were invited, and the dayan moderated a discussion about the tremendous responsibility that is on the shoulders of the Vaad.
