Sidewalk Construction On Union Rd

The Village of New Hempstead has announced the start a new construction project on Union Road. 

New Hempstead received a grant from the NYS Climate Smart Communities, which together with village funds, is being used to repair and expand the sidewalks on Union Road between Brick Church Road and Naomi Lane, which is slightly before Viola Road. The existing sidewalks will be expanded from 3-4 feet to 5 feet wide, which will make it more accessable and safer for pedestrians.

Construction is expected to last around six weeks and might cause parts of Union Road and the sidewalk to be impassable at times.
