Rockland County Ranked Third Safest County In US

US News conducted a study to rate the safest and healthiest cities in the Unites States. They assessed multiple factors, including crime, injuries, and public safety and rated each city on a score of 0-100. The specific metrics for those factors include the percentage of residents who live near emergency facilities, the amount of money spent on health and emergency services, rates of violent and property crimes, and more. 

US News released a list of the top 25 safest communities, 8 of which were counties in New York, with Rockland County coming in at third place overall. 

First place goes to Nassau County, NY, and Alexandria, Virginia is at second place.
