Rockland County Prepares For Heat Wave

By Idy Perl
Rockland County is preparing for a heat wave that is expected to hit today and last through Wednesday, bringing temperatures that are predicted to rise to the high 90's.
O&R is asking customers to limit energy use between 2pm-10pm so service stays reliable, and is preparing to deal with any potential outages due to the heat.
Rockland County has set up a total of 27 cooling centers around the county where residents can go to get out of the heat and cool down. For a full list of the cooling centers locations click here: https://www.rocklandcountyny.gov/government/cooling-centers
Residents are urged to stay out of the heat as much as possible and to hydrate throughout the day.
