Rockland County Police To Ramp Up Enforcement During Superbowl Weekend

By Rockland Daily Staff
The Rockland County STOP DWI program, together with Rockland County police agencies, will be participating in enforcement campaigns throughout the county this Super Bowl weekend to help reduce impaired driving. This is in addition to larger enforcement campaigns that will be in effect throughout New York, as per an announcement by Governor Hochul.
“As football fans gather across our state to watch the game on Sunday, I’m directing State Police and local law enforcement to elevate their enforcement action to protect New Yorkers from the dangers of impaired and reckless driving,” Governor Hochul said. “We have no tolerance for anyone endangering themselves or others on the road, and I encourage everyone to take the responsible steps necessary to keep our communities safe.”
Drivers in Rockland County can expect to see enforcement efforts, such as sobriety checkpoints and an increased police presence throughout the county. Law enforcement are urging all drivers to plan ahead and drive safely.
