Jhon Chacaguasay-Ilbis, a 22-year-old migrant from Ecuador residing in Rockland County, has pleaded guilty to the murder of Joselyn Toaquiza in Syracuse last June.
Surveillance footage revealed the two together at an Airbnb, with Chacaguasay-Ilbis later seen carrying Toaquiza, though it remains unclear if she was alive at that point. Her body was found in a park.
Chacaguasay-Ilbis faces up to 22 years in prison when sentenced next month.
