Rockland County Breaks Ground on New Firefighter Memorial

The County of Rockland celebrated the groundbreaking of its new Firefighter memorial, honoring fallen firefighters. Included in the project is the relocation of the County’s existing WWI, WWII, Korea and Vietnam memorials for service members who lived in Rockland to the entryway of the firefighter memorial.

The new memorial will be located on the grounds of the Rockland County Courthouse at 1 S. Main Street, New City, New York.

Those involved in the groundbreaking included County Executive Ed Day, Rockland County Legislative Minority Leader Aney Paul, Rockland County Sheriff Louis Falco, Rockland County Facilities Director Robert Gruffi, Rockland County Fire & Emergency Services Director Chris Kear, Fireman’s Memorial Committee Co-Chair Evan Humphry along with ADP Contracting which is handling the project.
