Rockland County Adds Three New Light Towers to Strengthen Emergency Preparedness

Rockland County Emergency Management has purchased three new indoor light towers to strengthen the county’s emergency preparedness and help keep emergency shelters safely lit during emergency disasters and power outages.

The specialized towers are powered by a remote generator, allowing them to safely operate indoors when normal power is unavailable.

The three units can also be linked together and deployed outdoors, providing additional lighting for emergency responders during nighttime incidents and other emergency operations.

The new equipment will give Rockland County additional resources to support emergency shelters and provide additional safety measures in the event of emergency response operations.

The purchase is part of the county’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its emergency response capabilities and ensure crews have the equipment needed when emergencies and disasters strike.
