Readers Writes: Why Fight Over Elections? Let’s Keep It Clean
To the Editor,
Election season is a time when everyone has the opportunity to express their opinions, support the candidates they believe in, and make their voices heard. That's perfectly fine, and it's part of the process.
But one thing we should all remember is that we are one community, regardless of which candidate we support.
As the elections approach, it's disappointing to see the growing negativity and personal attacks coming from both sides.
We already have enough issues, disagreements, and challenges within our community. We certainly don't need outsiders or political campaigns giving us even more reasons to fight among ourselves.
Elections should be about presenting ideas, accomplishments, and plans for the future, not about tearing down the other side. Let each candidate and their supporters focus on what makes them a good choice rather than constantly pointing out what's wrong with someone else.
Everyone has the right to their own opinion and to support whoever they believe is best. We can disagree without turning every disagreement into an argument or creating unnecessary tension between neighbors and friends.
Make your decision, support your choice, and stay calm and focused. There is no reason to get dragged into every negative message, accusation, or political argument.
At the end of the day, elections come and go, but we all remain part of the same community. Let's not allow a few weeks of politics to create divisions that last much longer.
