Long lines are forming at early voting locations across Rockland County as residents continue heading to the polls ahead of the November 3 general election, with several major races and a wide range of local contests generating strong interest across the community.

Early voting is underway at several locations across Rockland, including Ramapo Town Hall on Route 59, the Fire Training Center in Pomona, and the Pascack Community Center in Nanuet, along with locations in Clarkstown, Haverstraw, Orangetown, and Stony Point.

At the top of the ballot, Governor Kathy Hochul is seeking reelection against Republican challenger Bruce Blakeman. State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli and Attorney General Letitia James are also seeking reelection, along with other statewide races on the ballot.

Here in Rockland County, Congressman Mike Lawler is seeking reelection in New York’s 17th Congressional District against Democratic challenger Cait Conley, in a race that has generated significant interest both locally and nationally.

Another major contest is the State Senate race, where State Senator Bill Weber is facing Nyack Mayor Joe Rand in a very tight race that has drawn significant attention across the 38th State Senate District.

Assemblyman Aron Wieder is also seeking reelection in the 97th Assembly District, against challenger Rob Bonomolo . Other Assembly races covering portions of Rockland include Patrick Carroll against Brett Yagel in the 96th District, Karl Brabenec seeking another term in the 98th District, and Christopher Eachus against Richard Vargus in the 99th District.

At the town level, Ramapo Supervisor Michael Specht and Highway Superintendent Fred Brinn are both seeking new terms, while in Haverstraw, longtime Town Supervisor Howard Phillips Jr., Town Clerk Raquel Ventura, and Highway Superintendent John Bart Gordon are among the familiar names appearing on the ballot.

In Clarkstown, Supervisor George Hoehmann is seeking reelection, and Robert Milone is running for highway superintendent, along with several Town Council and other local races.

Voters will also see judicial contests on their ballots, including races for State Supreme Court in the Ninth Judicial District and Rockland County Court, adding another layer to this year’s election.

Beyond those races, ballots differ depending on where residents live, with additional town, village, trustee, justice, and other hyper-local contests across Rockland County.

The election atmosphere could be felt throughout Monsey and the broader Rockland community, with campaign vehicles traveling through neighborhoods playing music and election messages, signs lining busy roads, and campaigns making a strong push to bring residents to the polls.

With Election Day now just over a week away, many voters are choosing not to wait until November 3, with long lines at early voting locations reflecting strong interest as some of Rockland County’s most closely watched races enter their final stretch.
