Ramapo Town Leadership Visit Spring Valley as Emergency Snow Cleanup Gets Underway

By Rockland Daily Staff

This evening, just a few hours after Town of Ramapo Supervisor Specht approved a request from the Village of Spring Valley Mayor for assistance with snow cleanup in Spring Valley, they moved quickly to address the urgent situation.

Given the emergency conditions in Spring Valley, they consulted with Highway Superintendent Fred Brinn to determine whether the Ramapo Highway Department could provide plow trucks and drivers to assist the village.

Superintendent Brinn determined that helping Spring Valley would not hinder or affect the Highway Department’s ongoing responsibilities to the villages and unincorporated areas of Ramapo, and the request was approved.

Later that evening, Superintendent Brinn went out to check on his drivers and the progress being made. He noted that village crews, along with the Spring Valley Police Department, were also out assisting with operations, and he complimented the SVPD for its tremendous help.

While a lot of work still remains, the Town of Ramapo says it will make its best efforts to continue assisting with the massive cleanup effort.
