The event was presented by MADD, STOP DWI New York, The NYS Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee, and the NYS Division of Criminal Justice Service. Those organizations are dedicated to supporting the enforcement of laws regarding driving under the influence to ensure that all pedestrians and drivers are safe on the road.
At the event, the Ramapo Police Department as a whole was awarded the Department of the Year Award for their commitment to the enforcement of those driving under the influence and their continued education of the laws to keep Ramapo safe.
In addition, Ramapo Police Officer John Genito received the Recognition of Excellence Award for the second time, in recognition of his outstanding efforts in this area.
