An ongoing investigation by Ramapo PD has resulted in the arrest of two suspects who were in possession of a firearm.

Last month a Ramapo police officer detained a vehicle for a routine traffic violation, and the passenger unexpectedly took off on foot. After arresting the driver, the officer found a loaded handgun on the passenger side of the car. The driver was charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree, a Class-C Felony, and an investigation was launched to find the runaway passenger.

After about a month and with help from the federal task force, the suspect was identified and arrested on charges of possesstion of a loaded firearm.
