Protect Yourself from Scams: Free Identity Theft Workshop at Community Outreach Center

By Y.M. Lowy

Scams and identity theft have become a growing concern in heimishe communities, with residents increasingly targeted by online, phone, and financial fraud. To address this rising issue, the Community Outreach Center, in partnership with KeyBank, will host a free Identity Theft Workshop to help community members protect their personal and financial information.

The workshop will take place next Tuesday, November 18 at 8:00 p.m. at the Community Outreach Center’s FedEx Room.

Experts will share how identity theft happens, the warning signs to watch for, and what to do if your information is stolen. Attendees will also learn simple, practical steps to stay safe and avoid scams.

Executive Director Rabbi Hersh Horowitz said the workshop’s goal is to give people the knowledge and confidence to protect themselves. “When we understand how scams work and what to look out for, we can stop them before any damage is done,” he said.

The workshop is free and open to the public, but registration is required due to high demand. Refreshments will be served. To reserve a spot, call 845-356-9600 or email [email protected].
