Portion of Congers Lake Trailway Closed for Repairs

By Y.M. Lowy

Part of the west side of the Congers Lake Trailway has been closed indefinitely as crews begin necessary repair work.

The trail is currently inaccessible between location markers 47 and 54. Signs have been placed at the trailway entrance near the dam and on the north side of the lake close to Beckerle Lumber to alert visitors about the closure.

Officials are asking hikers and walkers to avoid the closed section and use alternate paths while repairs are completed. The work is expected to help keep the trail safe and enjoyable once it reopens.
