Piermont Dock Catches Fire

Early Tuesday morning, Piermont fire and police departments responded to several calls of a fire at Pier 701, off Piermont Ave in Piermont. 

Firefighters battled the fire for over an hour, both from the dock and from fireboats in the water, and were luckily able to put it out before any boats docked nearby were damaged.

The fire seems to have been caused by construction work that had been done on the dock earlier in the day.
