One Killed in Two-Car Crash at New Hempstead Rd and Summit Park Rd

On Monday, October 14, 2024 at approximately 9:30 am, the Ramapo Police Department responded to the intersection of New Hempstead Rd & Summit Park Rd for a reported two car crash with injuries.
Arriving Officers observed two vehicles to have been involved in the crash, a 2000 Ford Taurus and a 2007 Honda Accord. The Ford Taurus was occupied by a 69 y/o male (driver) and a 53 y/o female (passenger), both residents from Spring Valley. Both occupants were transported to Nyack Hospital by Spring Hill Ambulance.
The 53 y/o female passenger was later pronounced deceased at the hospital due to injuries sustained in the crash. The Honda was occupied by a 19 y/o male New City resident. The male was treated at the scene and released.
Ramapo PD was assisted at the scene by Spring Hill Ambulance and the Hillcrest Fire Department. Preliminary Investigation has revealed that the Honda Accord was traveling westbound on New Hempstead Rd and the Ford Taurus was traveling Eastbound attempting to make the left turn onto Summit Park Rd. The crash is currently under investigation by the Town of Ramapo Police Crash Investigation Unit.
