O&R Emergency Response Teams Mobilized Due To Strong Winds

O&R's emergency response team announced that they will be mobilized through the day and will continue to restore power to nearly 2,000 customers impacted by the ongoing winter storm. Their crews are prepared to address any additional outages that may arise throughout the day.

High winds ranging from 45 to 55 mph are expected to persist through 5pm today, posing significant risk to electric service. These strong winds have the potential to bring down tree limbs and overhead power lines, as has already happened on Mountain Avenue and Dolson Road, which could further disrupt service and create hazardous conditions. O&R is working to ensure the safe and reliable delivery of electricity, and urges customers to exercise caution around downed wires.

Below are the areas and number of customers currently affected by power outages:

  • Rockland County: 676
  • Chestnut Ridge: 1
  • Clarkstown: 64
  • Montebello: 173
  • Orangetown: 12
  • Piermont: 28
  • Ramapo: 373
  • Spring Valley – Ramapo: 38
  • Stony Point: 6
