NYS DOT HELP Truck Rammed Into On Palisades Parkway
By Idy Perl
A few days ago, a NYS Department of Transportation HELP truck pulled over on the northbound Palisades Interstate Parkway to assist a driver. The driver was about to step out of the truck when another driver failed to slow down or move over and crashed into the HELP vehicle.
The impact of the crash damaged both vehicles, and the DOT employee was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. Luckily he was released later that day, but the accident could've ended tragically if the timing had been a little different.
The DOT is reminding New York drivers to slow down and move over whenever there is a stopped vehicle on the side of the highway; lives depend on it.
