Nyack Officials Celebrate Completion of Renovated Memorial Park Shoreline Pathway

Nyack officials and community leaders gathered on Thursday for a ribbon-cutting ceremony marking the completion of the newly renovated shoreline pathway at Memorial Park.

The ceremony officially celebrated the completion of the waterfront improvement project, which was previously reported as work on the pathway was wrapping up earlier this summer.

Nyack Mayor Joe Rand thanked those who attended the official opening and highlighted the funding that helped make the project possible. “This renovation would not have been possible had it not been for the support of Governor Hochul through the Local Waterfront Revitalization Grant of over $400,000,” Rand said.

The mayor noted that the funding is part of approximately $7.5 million in federal and state grants secured for Nyack in recent years. “I’m grateful to her and to everyone who worked so hard to make this beautiful pathway a reality,” Rand said.

Rand added that village officials plan to continue pursuing outside funding for future improvements, saying he is “excited to continue to search for creative funding solutions to improve our village and Rockland County.”

The upgraded pathway provides improved accessibility and a more user-friendly route along Memorial Park’s scenic Hudson River shoreline, giving residents and visitors greater access to one of the village’s most popular waterfront areas.

With the work now completed, the renovated pathway is fully open for residents and visitors, providing an enhanced setting for waterfront recreation, community gatherings, and events at Memorial Park.
