Nyack Mayor Joe Rand Showcases New Shoreline Pathway Ahead of Summer Events
Nyack Mayor Joe Rand is highlighting the completion of Nyack's newly renovated shoreline pathway at Memorial Park, a project village officials say will provide improved waterfront access ahead of a busy summer season.
Rand shared photos of the completed pathway this week, describing it as a significant upgrade to the park's shoreline and thanking those involved in bringing the project to completion in time for the summer event season.
According to Rand, the pathway was opened in time for last week's African American Day Parade, although some fencing remained in place as final work was completed. The mayor noted that additional sections will be accessible during this weekend's Pride Day festivities, with the entire project expected to be fully open by Independence Day weekend.
The upgraded shoreline features improved accessibility and a more user-friendly design, allowing residents and visitors to better enjoy Memorial Park's scenic Hudson River waterfront.
Rand said he plans to formally recognize and thank the individuals involved in the project in the coming weeks. In the meantime, he encouraged residents and visitors to stop by and experience the new pathway.
Village officials are also asking visitors to help preserve the newly completed landscaping by keeping dogs off recently planted grassy areas while the vegetation becomes established.
The project is expected to enhance one of Nyack's most popular public spaces and serve as a focal point for community events and waterfront recreation throughout the summer months.
