Nyack Crews Repairing Water Valve on Main and Franklin

By Y.M. Lowy

The Village of Nyack began work early Wednesday to repair a water valve at the corner of Main Street and Franklin Street. The project started at 7 AM and is affecting traffic and water service in the area.

North Main Street is detoured to Bridge Street, and Franklin Street is closed between High Avenue and Main Street. Crews are keeping three corners of the intersection open, and flaggers are guiding cars through.

Water service in nearby blocks may be shut off for as long as four hours. The affected area includes Main Street between Franklin and Broadway and North Franklin between Main and High.

Drivers are being asked to avoid the area and use alternate routes while the repairs continue.
