New Sidewalk Project Underway on Carlton Road

by M.C. Millman
New sidewalks are being installed on Carlton Road, as previously promised by Town of Ramapo Supervisor Michael Specht as reported by Rockland Daily here.
"We're clearing a path on Carlton Road between College Road up to Pine Road," Highway Superintendent Fred Brinn explains the project which began last week, " including ten feet off of the north curb line in order to create a walking path for residents for their safety."
"This is one of many projects we are undertaking right now throughout the town to make our community safer," the supervisor explains. "We have just finished putting in really beautiful new sidewalks on Elaine Place. We are starting work on Francis Street, putting in sidewalks on both sides of the street very soon. We are putting in a sidewalk on Howard Drive going from Milton Place to West Maple, and we also just put in on College Road from Bina Lane...all to make it easier and safer for our community to walk safely throughout the town.
"We're doing many more projects, including continuing our street lighting upgrade with 1,500 lights throughout the town to make this a better, safer Ramapo."
