Nanuet FD Battle Brush Fires

The Nanuet Fire Department and multiple other fire and police departments battled brush fires in Nanuet and Bardonia over the weekend.
According to the Clarkstown Police Department, 3.58 acres were consumed in a wooded area off Convent Road in Nanuet on November 1st. Multiple fire departments battled the blaze for several hours in order to contain the fire in the woods and keep it from spreading further.
Yesterday, on November 3rd, a brush fire in Bardonia spread to a shed on Joseph Lane. Firefighters were able to put ou the fire without further damage.
Rockland County is currently experiencing a moderate drought and extremely dry conditions due to limited rain the last few weeks. County Executive Ed Day has issued a burn ban that prohibits all outdoor burning activities due to the increased risk of brush fires.
