Montefiore Nyack Hospital Home Care in Nyack has been named a 2026 Best Home Health agency by U.S. News & World Report, marking a major recognition in the publication’s first-ever national evaluation of home health providers.

The program received a “High Performing” designation, the highest level awarded in the rankings, based on strong results in care quality and patient experience. Officials said the designation reflects the agency’s ability to deliver timely care while maintaining positive outcomes for patients receiving services at home.

According to U.S. News, more than 12,000 home health agencies were evaluated nationwide, with only about 17 percent earning the Best Home Health designation. The ratings are designed to help families and patients better understand provider quality when making healthcare decisions, particularly for seniors who rely on in-home medical support.

The evaluation was based on data from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, focusing on measures such as how quickly care begins, patient outcomes, and feedback from patient experience surveys.

Colleen Nunes, home care administrator at Montefiore Nyack Hospital, said the recognition reflects the team’s daily commitment to patient-centered care. U.S. News officials added that the distinction is reserved for agencies that meet high standards in both clinical performance and overall patient experience.
